# Functions Overview

Cognigy Functions are Code Blocks that can be run inside your Cogngiy.AI installation and help you with long-running asynchronous processes, e.g. interaction with third-party systems HTTP APIs. They are independent of Flows but can be triggered from a Flow and can also use the "inject" and "notify" APIs to send their results back into a Flow.

Please note that Cognigy does not provide enterprise support for developed Functions. This repository is [licensed under MIT,](https://github.com/Cognigy/Extensions/blob/master/LICENSE) in which the community is responsible for the shared code.

1. Download a Function of your choice from the library below  
2. Upload it to your virtual agent  
3. Done
